Horror and fantasy author Shaun Hamill talks about his latest novel, The Dissonance, and how it looks at the ability to use magic as being a result of negative or traumatic personal experiences, and the results of those events on friendships and ways the world can shape groups of people.

The story is told in two parallel paths, one with the protagonists in the past as teenagers, and the other with them as adults dealing with the aftermath of the adventures and incidents that happened when they were teens using this magic.

We also dive a little bit into local folklore and myths that are specific to certain states, and we yearn for the lost books and encyclopedias and other references to folklore and paranormal mysteries in America.
