Thriller authors Simon Gervais and Ryan Steck have collaborated on The Second Son, the first story in the new “Chase Burke” series.
Simon and Ryan talk about how they formed this collaboration after so many solo books, and after how long they’ve known each other. After pitching ideas back and forth, they landed on a story and a lead character, and developing THE SECOND SON went from there.
They talk about building the story points and twists, and from researching techniques from different international law enforcement agencies to researching wines, and blending their individual strengths to make an intriguing story.
THE SECOND SON is available now, and the next book in the series, THE MARKED SON, will be available in 2026.
