Preview: “The Furnace” by Prentis Rollins A rare graphic novel from Tor on the collision of technology and mass incarceration

Feature graphic novels from publishers like Tor are rare, and as such, deserve attention when they come along.

The FurnacePrentis Rollins‘ first full length graphic novel, The Furnace, is a look at re-examining choices, use and misuse of technological advances, and oppression.

THE FURNACE is the story of Walton Honderich, a middle-aged physicist circa 2050, trying to come to terms with his youthful involvement in a crime against humanity: the devolopment of a means of incarceration that reduces prisoners to the status of living ghosts. THE FURNACE is a sci-fi story about a dark and looming possibility, an examination of the pitfalls of parenthood, and a uniquely American horror story.

The Furnace goes on sale July 10.
