In honor of the 75th anniversary of Ray Bradbury’s THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES—one of the most influential works in American literature—William Morrow will publish a beautifully designed collector’s hardcover edition, available nationwide on July 15, 2025. The deluxe edition features a new cover illustration by acclaimed British artist Bill Bragg, elegant endpapers, and red ink-tipped pages in tribute to Bradbury’s visionary universe.
Additionally, two of Bradbury’s beloved classics, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN and THE OCTOBER COUNTRY, will be re-released with striking new cover art by Bragg.
First published on May 4, 1950, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES marked Bradbury’s breakthrough work, establishing him as a major voice in American letters. A poetic and haunting vision of Earth’s colonization of Mars, the book blends lyrical storytelling with social commentary and helped define the modern landscape of speculative fiction. While FAHRENHEIT 451 would later cement Bradbury’s global literary stature, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES remains a foundational work—revered for its emotional depth, prophetic themes, and timeless insight into the human condition.
Told through a series of interconnected stories, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES explores humanity’s arrival on Mars, encounters with the native Martians, and the consequences of exporting humanity’s vices—war, greed, and prejudice—to a new world. With enduring imagination, Bradbury weaves a meditation on memory, loss, and the eternal search for meaning beyond our planet.
