Daniel H. Wilson studied AI and robotics, but turned towards storytelling instead. His love of science fiction brought him to explore his loves and concerns about robotics and the future in Guardian Angels and Other Monsters, his new short story collection from Vintage Books.
Daniel also talks about how the robots are really the good guys in Robopocalypse, and about the stories by Asimov and Clarke that impacted and haunted him, especially The Long Walk by Stephen King, publishing short fiction in professional scientific journals, and on how much waiting in involved for some of his stories to make it to film and television.
